Autumn term dates: 20 September – 29 November 2017. Half term break 25 October – no session. All sessions are on Wednesdays.
The following activities are run by Woking Group:
Contemporary Dance for 11+. Starting Wednesday 4 October.
Our wonderful and inspirational dance teacher Angela is offering an initial block of 3 sessions of contemporary dance, from 1pm – 1.50pm on Wednesdays at the Boxing Club situated in Woking Park same building where our hall is). If this block of sessions has enough children that want to continue next half term, we will be offering another block of 5 sessions then.
Angela will be focusing on dance routines to modern chart music, possible adding some dance troupe style synchronised dancing if she has enough children in the class.
The 3 sessions are a total of £21. To book your place(s), please send payment by Paypal, Friends and Family, to firstname.lastname@example.org and email the same address to confirm payment and names/ages of child(ren). If you wish you may book a taster session for £7 before committing to the rest of the sessions.
The boxing club’s studio is perfect for dance as it has a sprung floor and floor length mirrors. However, it also has a lot of equipment that could be distracting for some children – punch bags hanging to the side of the floor area and a small boxing ring. We have assured the owners of the boxing club that the children will not touch or play with any of their equipment. Please only sign your child up to the classes if you feel they can avoid the ‘temptations’ in the room. The age range has been raised slightly due to the new venue. Additionally, only dancers will be allowed in the studio. There is an entrance area where parents/siblings may watch though the doors if they wish.
All Wednesdays up to and including 29 November, 12:30 – 2.30pm. £2 per family. No need to book, simply turn up. Takes place in our new hall on the first floor (there’s a lift). Paypal in advance (email@example.com) or cash on the door.
Yoga Conditioning for adults
Yoga Conditioning class for adults at Woking Group. This class is for us, the parents and carers. Wednesdays 11:15 – 12:15 at the Boxing Club in Woking Park (same building as the Woking Group hall). First class this coming Wednesday 4 October. Pay As You Go, £6 per session payable either in advance (PayPal) to firstname.lastname@example.org or cash on the door to the teacher. No need to book, just turn up and bring a yoga mat.
The class is designed to strengthen & tone, pulling together elements of Pilates & Yoga. It will also create mobility & flexibility, improving posture & balance using flowing movement combinations to great music. The teacher is an experienced professional fitness instructor that teaches at the leisure centre and other sport venues in the area. We are running a block of 3 sessions to gauge interest with the option to continue after half term.
For health & safety and insurance reasons we can’t have children in the studio during the class, nor can they be left unsupervised in the waiting area outside the studio. Any questions please ask.
